Rudolph A. Sunderman Sworn in as 3rd District Suffolk County Legislator

On Tuesday January 2, 2018, Rudolph A. Sunderman took the oath of office to begin his term as Suffolk County Legislator of the 3rd District. Sunderman was joined by his wife Laura, several family members, friends and his staff, Timothy Rothang, Aileen Markowsky, Catherine Guarino.
“Today as I sat for the first time as Suffolk County Legislator, 3rd District, and my dream finally became a reality. I am ready to continue to serve my community and I’m excited to embark on this new adventure.”
Rudy is a lifelong resident of Mastic and a William Floyd High School graduate. Married to his Wife, Laura for 26 years and has four children. Rudy has spent his entire life helping his community; starting in the fire service as a junior member and rising up to Chief of the Mastic Fire Department; he also formerly served as Chief of Mastic Volunteer Ambulance. Rudy served two terms as Mastic Fire Commissioner, elected by the residents of the district. He was formerly employed as manager of the Centereach Fire District and a District Manager for CVS. His community is where he wants to watch his children and grandchildren remain. Unfortunately, record numbers of young people are leaving and that will not stop unless things change. Rudy wants to ensure the future by stopping the residents from being taxed out of their homes.
“Our goals will be on quality of life issues, the drug epidemic, zombie homes, and balancing the budget. We will work closely with the local police department, civil organizations and all other local groups.”
He has worked in both the public and private sector and understands the balance necessary between business and government. He knows what it takes to balance budgets and make government work.
“Thank you to my family, friends, and colleagues. This moment would not have been possible without your continued love and support.”
